Cossacks of the Great Don Army gathered in the Starocherkasskaya stanitsa to honor the memory of the Cossacks who suffered during the Civil War and repression.
The requiem, held under the arches of the Resurrection Army Cathedral, was attended by Cossacks of the Great Don Army, representatives of the Union of Cossack Warriors of Russia and abroad, the Cossack National Guard , other Cossack public organizations, Cadet Cossack cadet corps, students of Cossack schools. The memorial service was served by the Army Priest of the Great Don Army, rector of the Ascension Army Cathedral, Archpriest George Smorkalov.
At the end of the requiem, the selected ataman of the Great Army of the Don V.A. addressed to the participants. Bobylchenko, commander of the Cossack National Guard N.I. Kozitsyn and First Deputy (Comrade) Ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Society V.P. Vodolatsky. In their speeches, the leaders of the Cossacks were unanimous: the present generation needs to preserve the memory of the tragic events that resulted from the 1917 revolution and not allow the repetition of the tragedy experienced by the Cossack people.
At the end of the requiem, the Cossacks with the Don Icon of the Mother of God, with banners and banners carried an Orthodox procession through the streets of the Starocherkasskaya village to the Preobrazhensky (Ratnensky) church. A memorial lithium was served here for victims of the tale of politics.
