Agreement on cooperation between Russian Monarchists

An agreement on cooperation in the field of educational activities has been reached between the Russian Imperial Union-Order (RIU-O) and the Two-Headed Eagle Society for the Development of Russian Historical Education. From 24 to 25 June 2019, a delegation of the executive directorate of the Society for the Development of Russian Historical Education “Double-headed Eagle”. The event was hosted by the Saransk department of the Russian Imperial Union-Order, headed by the head of the RIS-O D.Sysuev.

The program of the visit involved the widest range of meetings. A start was made by a visit to the Moscow delegation of the Saransk Theological Seminary. With the blessing of His Eminence Zinoviy, Metropolitan of Saransk and Mordovia, Protopriest Pavel Gorbunov, Provost of the seminary for educational work, received the guests of the seminary. Fruitful communication with teachers and students of the educational institution took place. In the hall of the seminar library, Leonid Petrovich Reshetnikov delivered a lecture entitled “Problems of historical education in modern Russia”. Numerous questions of the audience testified to the audience’s interest in the indicated problems. At the end of the dialogue, books on Russian history were handed over to the students of the seminary, including the work of L.P. Reshetnikov “Return to Russia”. Each seminarist received a copy of the book with the author’s autograph.

Then, in the same room, an organizational meeting was held, established by joint agreement between the leadership of RIS-O and the “Two-Headed Eagle” Society of its Saransk Regional Branch. Dmitry Alekseevich Sysuev became the head of the 65th subdivision. The meeting discussed general issues and proposed directions for the development of educational work in the region.

After a business meeting, the Moscow delegation of the Company, accompanied by representatives of the regional branch, with the blessing of the ruling bishop, visited St. Fedor's Cathedral, where a small study tour was held, and then a short walk through the central square of Saransk. The guests were shown a beautiful monument to the heroes of the Great (First World War), as well as a memorial plaque to Grand Duke Dimitry Konstantinovich installed on the building of the metropolis in 2015, the 100th anniversary of the martyr's death remembered this year.


The delegation was cordially received by the Minister of Education of the Republic of Mordovia, Galina Anatolyevna Yavkina. In the course of a detailed conversation, questions of the historical education of modern youth and the problems of their upbringing were touched upon.
