Large-scale processions in memory of the family of the Tsar Nicholas II will take place in three days

Cross processions are timed to the anniversary of the execution of the holy royal martyrs. Events will be held in Yekaterinburg from July 12 to July 21.

From July 12, the XVIII Festival of Orthodox Culture "Tsar's Days" ( XVIII Фестиваль православной культуры «Царские дни») is scheduled, within which, according to the press service of the diocese, several dozens of religious and secular events of various formats, devoted to the "royal" theme, will be held - from music festivals to creative meetings and lectures. The annual bell ringing festival will take place on July 14-18.

The main events will begin on July 15 at Ganina Yama, where the remains of Nicholas II and his family, as well as those close to him and the servants who were shot in Yekaterinburg in the Ipatiev house on the night of July 17, were destroyed.

On July 16, the first religious procession from the Shartash station (Kuybyshev Street, 149a) to the Temple-Monument on the Blood will take place. By this route, the family of the Emperor was carried in Yekaterinburg. After the all-night vigil at the site in front of the Temple on the Blood at 11:30 pm, the main divine service of the Tsar’s Days, the nightly divine liturgy, will begin. When it ends, at 02:30 a traditional religious procession will take place from the temple to Ganina Yama, which in the Russian Orthodox Church is called Tsarsky. Last year, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and Grand Prince Georgii Mikhailovich took part in the procession. According to the ROC, the procession gathers tens of thousands of pilgrims, in past years from 60 thousand to 100 thousand people took part in it.

On July 18, in Alapayevsk, where the Grand Duchess Elizaveta Romanova and other members of the House of Romanov died, at 3:30 a procession from Holy Trinity bishop's monastery to the monastery in the name of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church will take place.
From July 1, the Yekaterinburg diocese will launch a hotline where you can learn in detail about all the events of the Tsar's days.
